Nothing Phone 2: Design, Price and Release Date

The Nothing Phone 2 is the highly anticipated follow-up to the Nothing Phone 1, due out in 2022. The previously released Nothing Phone 1 is known for its unique design and features.

Former OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei’s post-OnePlus mobile phone Nothing Phone (1) ranked No. One.

According to Nothing, the Nothing Phone 2 will be an even better device to fix the previous generation’s issues at launch. This article looks at the Nothing Phone 2 and everything we know about the device, including its release date, price, design, specs, and more.

Nothing Release date:

The launch of Nothing Phone 2 will take place on July 11, 2023. The global launch will be broadcast live at 11:00 AM ET that day. In addition, the launch event will be held free of charge. It can be viewed through the official website of Nothing. Tech.

Nothing also announced that the Nothing Phone 2 would receive three years of software support and one year of security updates. The launch teaser video shows a Glyph light panel on the back of the phone, similar to the one seen in the Nothing phone 1, and a tentacle appears in the video, but no reason is revealed.

Nothing Design:

The design of the Nothing Phone 1 is one of the phone’s selling points, featuring a unique aesthetic with a transparent back design and Glyph lighting. From the teaser video posted by Nothing, the Nothing Phone 2 will feature a similar fine back design with some more rounded edges.

The Nothing Phone 2 will be the second phone from Nothing, the company founded by Carl Pei. Android Police reports that for the Nothing Phone 2, the company has covered all the individual components with white or blackboards. This will give the back a cleaner look. In addition, the report also claims that the Nothing Phone 2 will use an aluminum body.

According to 91mobile, Phone 2 will be different from Phone 1. According to the rendering, Phone 2 will adopt a curved design and look more rounded. Android Police also reports that the device will have an LED light strip on the back, making it even more noticeable.

Of course, specs matter, but as the “average consumer” tends to choose a new phone just by looking at it and holding it, Carl Pei & Co seems to have nailed both the aesthetic and functional design of the Nothing phone 2. The Nothine Phone 2 looks easier to “hold in one hand” because it has a curved frame (albeit larger) while being just as good-looking (and transparent) as the Nothine Phone 1.

Phone Specifications:

While we’re expecting more details on the phone in the coming weeks, here’s what we know so far:

We can expect the Nothing Phone 2 to come with a 120Hz adaptive AMOLED display. The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset will power the Nothing Phone 2, and we can expect the Nothing Phone 2 to come with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

In terms of performance, the device may need to catch up with flagship phones with the new Snapdragon 8Gen2 SoC. Many mobile phones, such as Mi 13 series, Red Magic 8 Pro series, iQOO 11 series, Moto X40, and even Redmi K60, are equipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. This chip is more powerful than the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 that the Nothing Phone 2 will use.

So, in terms of performance, the Nothing Phone 2 will likely need to catch up to these flagships.

However, the device should offer better performance than its predecessor. The new device will have a greater focus on recycled and bio-based materials. The Nothing Phone 2 is also expected to have better battery life than the Nothing Phone 1. According to a report by Android Authority, the Nothing Phone 2 will have a 4700mAh battery.

There has yet to be official information on the display size and cameras of the device.

Software:

On the software side, the Nothing Phone 2 will run on Nothing OS, which has a more minimalist design, according to Tomsguide. Nothing officially confirmed that the Nothing Phone 2 would receive three years of software support and one year of security updates. This is good news coming directly from the company.

Price:

Pricing for the phone is expected to be higher than the Nothing Phone 1, which starts at $500, and the new device is rumored to be priced around $600, according to Dexerto.

Written at the end:

Compared with the previous generation, Nothing Phone 2 aims to solve the performance problems that Phone 1 lacks. It should be able to compete with full-featured flagship phones in the market. The Nothing Phone 2 will have a similar transparent back design to the Nothing Phone 1 but with rounder edges. The new devices are expected to have better performance and longer battery life, focusing more on recycled and bio-based materials.

The phone will launch globally on July 11, 2023, for $600 or less. While the phone has some drawbacks, it’s still very attractive, especially after the price cut.
